have officially confirmed that midfielder Musa ‘Pele’ Oundo has committed his future to the club, signing a new contract that will keep him at Ingwe until January 2027.

Speaking about his contract extension, Oundo expressed his gratitude and optimism for the future.

«I am happy to have extended my stay at AFC Leopards. I feel grateful to be part of the club, and I always feel at home here. I am looking forward to a great season ahead,» he told the club website after signing.

His decision to stay is seen as a major boost for AFC Leopards as

Otieno, whose contract was extended by six months in December, is set to leave Gor Mahia when his deal expires at the end of the season.

His commitment also highlights the club’s growing ambition and stability, particularly in retaining key players despite interest from rival teams.

This move puts an end to speculation that linked him with potential transfers to Gor Mahia and Bandari FC.

There had been concerns that Oundo might leave the club during the January transfer window, but he has now put those fears to rest.

«AFC Leopards is delighted to announce that our defensive midfielder, Mousa Oundo, has renewed his contract with the club for two years until January 2027,” read part of the club’s official statement.

The 26-year-old midfielder’s football journey started at Kaloleni Primary School in Nairobi before he moved to Bukiri Boys High School in Busia County. His club career began with Black Mamba, a local side in Kaloleni, before earning a place in Mathare United’s Under-20 squad.

Oundo quickly made a name for himself at Mathare United, featuring in two consecutive Kenyan Premier League Under-20 tournaments, where his team emerged victorious in both editions.

His impressive performances earned him a spot in Mathare United’s senior team before he later played for Chemelil Sugar FC and Nairobi Stima.

Both Timothy Ouma and his agent Patrick Mork have explained why they snubbed overtures from the likes of Luton and Sheffield United to join Slavia Prague.

In June 2022, he joined AFC Leopards but was soon loaned to Kibera Black Stars for three months. Upon his return, he made his Ingwe debut on December 21, 2022, in a league match against Kakamega Homeboyz at Nyayo Stadium.

AFC Leopards have already reinforced their squad in the mid-season transfer window by signing goalkeeper James Ssetuba from Kakamega Homeboyz and right-back Fredrick Alushula from Kariobangi Sharks.

Currently, the club sits fourth on the league table with 29 points, and Oundo’s renewed presence in midfield is expected to further strengthen their campaign as they chase top honors.

With his new deal in place, Oundo now has a chance to cement his legacy at AFC Leopards, proving his loyalty and dedication to the club that has become his home.
