Tusker FC striker Ryan Ogam has big ambitions this season with a target of 20 goals in his sights.
The forward has been among the bright spots for the brewers in 2024-25, bagging five goals that leave him joint top in the scorer’s charts in the FKF Premier League alongside Francis Kahiro of KCB.
With Tusker struggling for consistency, his impact has perhaps not been felt as they sit seventh on the table with nine points from seven matches after two wins, three draws and two losses, but the young striker set himself big goals at the start of the campaign which he is determined to accomplish.
Gor Mahia captain Philemon Otieno and goalkeeper Gad Mathews want to bounce back to winning ways against AFC Leopards as Ingwe host K’Oglao in the Mashemeji derby on Sunday.
“As a striker, you want to be the top and my target is to become the top scorer this season,” Ogam told
“I feel I have started well, only that I was slowed down by injury. But I feel strong and very much fit and looking forward to the campaign. I want to get 10 goals by the end of the first leg and this will be a good step to achieve the golden boot.”
The race for the FKF Premier League golden boot is wide open especially after the departure of former Gor Mahia striker Benson Omala who claimed it with his 19 goals last season.
Ogam will need to stay fit and in form to achieve his ambitions and is one of the players who have benefited from the two-week international break, having allowed him to fully recover from an injury.
Tusker face equally struggling Nairobi City Stars on Saturday November 23 and Ogam will be ready to fire on all cylinders for Charles Okere’s team.
