Kenya Police coach Anthony Kimani has backed his charges to pull off a comeback when they face Egyptian side Zamalek in the return leg of their CAF Confederation Cup tie at the Cairo Stadium.

Police find themselves having to come from behind when they take on Zamalek in Cairo after Abdallah Sayed’s solitary goal handed the Egyptians a narrow win at the Nyayo Stadium in the first leg.

“We know we did not get the result that we expected to get back at home, but we are very certain that we had lots of positives to pick from that particular match,” assured Kimani.

Kenya Police faces a crucial CAF Confederation Cup clash against Zamalek, needing a 2-0 win to advance.

“If we can carry on or just add a bit more energy and creativity in the opponent’s half then we are very sure we might be able to get that much needed goal.”

The match in Cairo will be played under the flood lights and without supporters in the stands after Zamalek fans were handed a match-ban.

The ban is a result of previous violations and affects the passionate Zamalek supporters, who are known for generating an intimidating atmosphere at the Cairo International Stadium.

The White Knights are expected to field Ahmed Fetouh in their upcoming match against Kenya's Police FC despite the defender facing serious charges of manslaughter and drug use.

Kimani’s side will hope to take advantage of the lack of supporters to repeat their first-round heroics when they dispatched Ethiopian side Ethiopian Coffee after a barren draw at Nyayo Stadium and clinching a crucial 1-0 win away at the Abebe Bekila Stadium in Addis Ababa.
