Olympic champion Gabby Thomas explains why she opted for a second job after finding out that there's no enough money on the track.

According to Rachier, the club’s constitution stipulates that elections must take place every four years, with a maximum tenure of two terms.

“Article XI of the 2019 Gor Mahia constitution provides that elections shall be held every four years, with a reelection of one term only, meaning a maximum of eight years under this new framework,” he explained.

Despite having previously stated in 2023 that he would not seek re-electionfor what he describes as his final term in office. He welcomed competition for his seat, inviting challengers to contest in the elections.

“I have been satisfied with the work we have done as leaders despite financial challenges,” Rachier stated.

African footballers have enjoyed massive success on and off the field. While the huge perks is a reward for hard work, some of them own luxurious private jets.

“Our main goal is always to win titles. We have won 21 championships, while our closest competitors have 13. We have succeeded before, and if re-elected, we will continue striving for more success.”

Rachier, who has been at the helm of Gor Mahia since 2008, has faced various controversies during his tenure, including legal disputes and opposition from some club officials.

He attributed the delayed elections to a court injunction filed by a club member, which disrupted the initial election schedule.

As the April 13 elections approach, Gor Mahia members will now have the opportunity to decide the future leadership of the club. With Rachier seeking another term, the upcoming elections are expected to be closely contested, shaping the next chapter in the history of the FKF Premier League giants.
