The Nairobi County government has made significant progress in renovating Joe Kadenge Stadium, formerly known as City Stadium.
The facility, which previouslyhad fallen into a state of disrepair, making it unfit to host matches.

However, a fresh wave of optimism is now present as the county government nears the completion of the much-needed renovations.
According to Brian Mulama, the County Executive Committee Member for Sports, the upgraded stadium will benefit not only Nairobi residents but also the entire country.
“The turf has been imported from Holland and is being installed by experts. The last renovation was done in 2010, meaning it has taken 15 years without any government intervention,» Mulama stated in an interview with

“Dandora Stadium is being overused, and that is why the Governor has instructed that we fast-track the renovations of other stadiums to provide alternative venues for football teams,” Mulama added.
Before its official reopening, FIFA is expected to conduct a field assessment to ensure the facility meets the required international standards.
With its strategic location within Nairobi’s Central Business District (CBD) outskirts, the stadium is expected to significantly boost football within the region, providing clubs across the Kenyan leagues with a modern and accessible facility to nurture local talent.
