Harambee Stars manager Benni McCarthy has revealed the key step he took to become one of Africa’s top coaches.
, Benni McCarthy revealed that he had to undertake some courses that would be vital for him as he looked to make an impact.
He explained that making it to the top and working with some of the biggest clubs like Manchester United required him to invest in his education first since nowadays, time served as a player does not matter that much.

He explained that taking up the relevant coaching courses helped him learn how to handle a different kind of pressure. added that he had to gain the confidence to speak before players and the courses helped a lot in that.
The former Manchester United first-team coach explained that the courses were an eye-opener and gave him the necessary skills to know how to communicate with players and ensure they took in all the advice he gave.
“Having to speak in front of players, who are as good as you were, or even better, and convince them what you are trying to put across will make them even better… that’s a scary thought. I don’t think I would have survived without the training,” Benni McCarthy said in an interview with
