FKF Premier League leaders have been handed a major boost as star striker is nearing a return to full fitness following a spell on the sidelines.
Ogam, who joined Tusker from the now-defunct Rainbow FC following a spell in Dubai on loan last season, is back doing gym work as he targets a return to the pitch before the end of the season.
Ogam has netted 15 goals this season, which has earned him international recognition especially with the not very far away.
Benni McCarthy has revealed how Jose Mourinho restored his love for football and helped him heal from past struggles, earning his lifelong loyalty.
In a video released on the club’s social media channels, Ogam was seen going through his paces, and if he continues in his trajectory, he could be back in the team in May, with the title race approaching the last stretch of games.
Ogam, who scored during his international debut at the Mapinduzi Cup in Zanzibar in January 2025, is way ahead of schedule in his recovery.
“I am happy to be back in training. See you soon,” Ogam said.
Ogam last played during their 1-1 draw with Shabana FC at Machakos stadium on 26 February 2025 in an FKF premier league clash and also pulled out of the Harambee Stars camp before their 2026 World Cup qualifiers against the Gambia and Gabon last month.
Harambee Stars coach Benni McCarthy has been in the news lately, being linked to the Orlando Pirates job as a potential Jose Riveiro successor.
Without Ogam, head coach Charles Okere has relied on a forward rotation featuring Deugratius Ojok, Thomas Omole, Michael Oduor, Lawrence Luvanda, and others to keep Tusker’s title hopes alive.
After 27 games, Tusker have amassed 51 points, one more ahead of Kenya Police, who lost to Ulinzi Stars last weekend. Gor Mahia, who have had troubles of their own in recent weeks, are third on 47 points but with a game in hand on their rivals.
Gor Mahia, meanwhile, face Talanta FC in a rescheduled fixture on Thursday at Dandora Stadium, hoping to reclaim top spot. But with Ogam on the mend, their task just got tougher.
Should Tusker hold their nerve and Ogam return firing, the title might just be heading back to Ruaraka.
Shericka Jackson will begin her 200m comeback on Saturday, aiming for redemption while facing a fierce American trio out to test her.
