Athletics Kenya has welcomed World Mountain Running president Tomo Sarf as Kenya is poised to make history, hosting its inaugural Mountain Running World Ranking event.
“I have been on a little break after running at the World Cup, but now I am looking forward to Saturday. The last time I competed in Naivasha, I emerged victorious, and this is where I have been training,» Said Kipngeno reflecting on his preparation via (AK)
The event is expected to draw hundreds of participants across three race categories including the senior men’s and women’s 10km races, as well as an 11.54km fun run.
Engagement meetings have been held in Ngong and other parts of the country
Kipngeno leads the men’s world rankings, with his Kenyan compatriot Josphat Kiprotich close behind in second place.
Philemon Kiriago and Richard Atuya are also among the top contenders, ranked fourth and fifth globally.
