Paris Olympic long jump champion has revealed her admiration and the iron will her husband displayed before Hunter went on to win Paralympic gold in Paris.

American stormed to victory in the T62 400m at the Paralympics in Paris, September, a month after his wife Tara won Olympic long jump gold.

The track and field power couple have disclosed a peculiar career aspiration that Tara Davis-Woodhall had before settling for track and field.

Hunter won in 46.36 seconds at the Stade de France, ahead of world record holder of Germany and Olivier Hendriks of the Netherlands. The 25-year-old celebrated by hugging Tara, who was watching in the crowd, in a role reversal of the celebrations when she took gold in August at the same venue.

Tara said although she was nervous, she felt Hunter had what it takes to clinch gold going by his preparation. «I was so nervous. I was so pumped knowing he was ready to run and how much he wanted to win,» Tara told .

Olympics long jump champion Tara Davis-Woodhall has opened up about how she got motivated to win gold at Paris Olympics by watching a martial arts drama film.

«It was a dream for us to both win gold. We’ll be wearing these golds for the rest of our lives,» she added.

Tara won a silver medal at the 2023 World Championships. In 2017, she set the American junior women’s record in the indoor long jump, and placed 6th in the women’s long jump final at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

The pair attended each other’s Olympic and Paralympic trials, created videos for their social media accounts while training, and even manifested their individual success in same format ahead of their finals at Paris 2024.
