Ethiopian Tigist Ketema got over the line first as Ethipopia completed a podium swoop at the 50th edition of the BMW Berlin marathon on Sunday morning.
Ketema crossed the finish line in 2:16:42 to headline what was a good day for her country.
The dominant Ketema led majority of the race from start to finish as she obliterated her competition in Berlin.
As the newly crowned Berlin Marathon champion approached Brandenburg Gate on the 40km mark she was cheered on by the crowd as she charged to claim victory.
Fellow Ethiopian Mestawot Fikir came in second place with a time of 2:18:48 to secure Ethiopia’s second medal.
