Olympic marathon champions and have been confirmed as headliners for the 2025 London Marathon scheduled for Sunday, April 27.
Both return to the English capital with much experience since they have raced there more than once. Sifan Hassan made her full marathon debut in the streets of London, crossing the finish line first in 2:18:33.
The marathon was documented as one of the most dramatic races since Sifan took a few breaks during the race and it was never expected that she would win the race.

Sifan Hassan is set to once again grace several marathon courses this year and is devoted to run until her last breath.
She later claimed top honours at the Chicago Marathon in 2023, beating reigning world marathon record holder Ruth Chepng’etich to second place.
Sifan Hassan debuted at the 2024 Tokyo Marathon where she finished fourth before heading to the where she claimed the title in the marathon.
She has expressed excitement upon her return to the streets that she achieved her first-ever marathon victory and having a hint of how the course looks like, Sifan will be looking to clinch another victory.
«It feels so special to come back to the London Marathon. This is where I ran my very first marathon and began my journey in this incredible distance,» Sifan said.
«London is also where I learned to be patient, to trust myself, and to keep pushing even when it feels impossible. It is a place where I grew, not just as an athlete, but as a person.»
On his part, has yet to be victorious at the London Marathon and he will be eyeing his first victory this season.
Paralympian Hunter Woodhall won gold in Paris but it came at the back of contracting the COVID-19, and suspects Noah Lyles was responsible for that.
Tola finished sixth at the 2016 London Marathon before winning a bronze medal in the 2023 edition. In 2024, he failed to finish the race.
«I know that London always brings the best marathon racers in the world together so it will not be easy, but it is my ambition to win this historic race for the first time in April,” Tola said.
