is gearing up for the fourth leg of the cross-country series scheduled for this weekend at the Kapkwen Airstrip, Bomet.

The Bomet edition follows previous ones in , Kapsokwony and Iten, which have also attracted a large number of athletes.

Speaking ahead of the event,Executive Committee member John Kimetto has expressed confidence about the preparations, noting that everything is going well.

explained that the course in Bomet is suitable for athletes to test their speed and coaches could also know the areas to work on with their athletes.

Kimetto urged the athletes to keep registering for the event since it will promise to be a thrilling show, having attracted some of the top athletes, especially those known for ruling cross-country races.

“The course we have here in Bomet is flat. It is a course where the athletes can test their speed and coaches can use to gauge their athletes ahead of the 2025 season. We urge all athletes to register and fans to turn up in large numbers to support the competitors,” Kimetto said.

“Preparations are going on well, and I am happy to report that we are in the final stages. We have already mapped out the course, and it is in excellent condition. Taping of the course will be done on Friday to ensure everything is ready for Saturday,” he added.

He was bullish about having large numbers of athletes showing up, revealing that the area has bred the likes of World 3000m steeplechase record holder , World 10km record holder , and Chicago Marathon champion John Korir.

The program includes the senior 10km race, the Under-20 6km (women) and 8km (men) races, and a 2km loop event. Winners in the senior categories will receive a of Ksh 50,000 whereas those in the junior categories will walk home with Ksh 30,000 each. Athletes are advised to pick up their bib numbers in person on Friday at the AGC Town Church in Bomet.
