Days after her engagement to her American lover, Jasmine Camacho-Quinn struck a seasons best time to claim top honours in the women’s 100m hurdles at the Diamond League Meeting in Lausanne.

Jasmine Camacho-Quinn was seeking redemption at the Diamond League Meeting in Lausanne, going up a formidable field.

Camacho-Quinn headed to the Paris Olympic Games with fingers crossed to defend her title but narrowly lost it to American Masai Russell. The hurdler from Puerto Rico was forced to settle for second place in the race.

Reigning world champion Danielle Williams was also hoping to make an impact, going up the stacked field. Williams finished sixth in the women’s 100m hurdles semifinal and could not proceed to proceed to the final.

American Alaysha Johnson was also in the mix after flopping at the Paris Olympic Games. She admitted that it had taken a toll on her and she struggled to process her performance.

“On my way to my first practice since… and I cried all day in the bed about it. Nobody ever tells you how hard it is to pick yourself back up once your dreams don’t come true,” she shared on X.
