Jamaican youngster Ackeem Blake has bounced back with a bang to triumph over Christian Coleman, Fred Kerley, Akani Simbine and Co in the men’s 100m at the Diamond League Meeting final in Brussels.
Blake clocked an impressive 9.93 seconds to cross the finish line ahead of the defending champion Coleman who finished second in 10.00 seconds. Olympic 100m bronze medallist Kerley was forced to finish third in the hotly contested race.
Competing at the event, South Africa’s Simbine was hoping to impress in his final race of the season but faded to fifth place finish in a time of 10.10 seconds. Emmanuel Eseme narrowly defeated Simbine with his fourth-place finish in 10.09 seconds.
Fred Kerley has supported Letsile Tebogo in pleading with World Athletics to bring back an athletics competition that was done away with in 2020.
