Lachlan Kennedy has become the talk of the town after silencing Australian teen sprint sensation Gout Gout in the men’s 200m at the Maurie Plant Meet in Melbourne, Australia.

Despite having a personal best time of 21.19 seconds, far from reaching Gout Gout’s milestones, he was determined to win. Lachlan Kennedy clocked an impressive 20.26 seconds with coming in second in a time of 20.30 seconds.

Reminiscing about his experience indoors, he explained that he never thought the 200m was his stronghold but now he is sure about what he can deliver.
“Yeah indoors was a heap of fun I knew I’d always be good at 60m but 200m is definitely a different beast so I was just happy to come out here and get the job done. I feel like I’ve got more to give as well,” he revealed.
He added that the crowd gave him a once-in-a-lifetime experience and that was a huge morale booster beat Gout Gout.

He also opened up about his winning mentality, revealing that every race always lays a foundation for him to be better.
