Letsile Tebogo has broken his silence following back-to-back losses to his compatriots in the early stages of the season.
He was off to a great start, at the BAA Track And Field Series 2 before claiming his first win of the season at the ACNW League 6.
His two losses came with a surprise to his fans. Competing in the 400m in both instances, Letsile Tebogo went in as a favourite to win but emerged second. At the ASA Athletics Grand Prix 1, it was Botswana’s rising star Bayapo Ndori who claimed the win.

Letsile Tebogo strongly believes in his training and following a religious work routine, something that has worked in his favour since he first stepped on the track as a junior athlete.

is unfazed by the setback since the 400m is not his main focus of the season. In a pre-race interview ahead of the Maurie Plant Meet, Letsile Tebogo explained that the 400m was mainly for polishing his final 100m in the 200m races.
He pointed out the race in Melbourne would be his final 400m but he might add another 400m in the middle of the season.
Over the years, many notable players have been eligible to play for Kenya's Harambee Stars and other nations as well, with some opting for the latter.
“Definitely switching down to my event and maybe one 400m during the season. I think the first two in China and then Doha and Rabat so far, that’s the ones I can confirm,” Tebogo said.
Now, the focus shifts to the Diamond League Meetings where Tebogo will be competing in his core events, the 100m and 200m.
So far, he has only been confirmed for the Diamond League Meetings in Xiamen, Suzhou, Doha and Rabat. He will be building up for the World Championships in Tokyo, Japan hoping to get the gold medals that evaded him in Budapest, Hungary.
