Paralympic champion has broken his silence on the pre-games development that almost threw his participation in  jeopardy.

Weeks before the quadrennial show  in the French capital, Hunter, a three-time Paralympic bronze medallist  was struck with an unexpected microscopic setback. Hunter, husband to Olympian ,  tested positive for COVID-19.

Olympic champion Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone required a third date to know that Andre Levrone was chasing him.

Hunter revealed who he suspected infected him with the virus in a recent podcast where Paris Olympic 100m champion and his fellow Olympian co-host Rai Benjamin welcomed the couple.

(function (v, d, o, ai) { ai = d.createElement(‘script’); ai.defer = true; ai.async = true; ai.src = v.location.protocol + o; d.head.appendChild(ai); })(window, document, ‘//a.vdo.ai/core/v-pulsesports-co-ke-v0/vdo.ai.js’);

In a rare and candid conversation where this episode delved into the inspiring journeys,  the couple explored serious topics, but Hunter didn’t shy away from revealing his worst nightmare in France.

Olympic champion Noah Lyles is loved and hated in equal measure. His opinions have received mixed reactions from the people.

He suspects he caught covid from none other than Lyles when he said: «I got mad beef with Noah Lyles, bro,» Hunter joked. «For sure guys, I got COVID from Noah. So Tara won. I had a workout like the day before Tara won, and it was like repeating 250s, and I was like, dying bro. Why am I so tired from these 250’s. I was like, ‘there’s a chance that I get sick from this, but I’m not even worried about it,»  Hunter said.

Despite the setback, both Woodhalls delivered standout performances. “This is what the Olympics is supposed to feel like,” Tara shared, comparing their experiences to Tokyo 2020.

The duo are fully focused on the 2025 season, with the World Championships in Tokyo and Para athletics World Championships in New Delhi on the horizon. They’re eager to see just how far, and how fast, they can push the boundaries of their sport, all while aiming for a repeat of their 2024 successes.
