At just 16, has taken the track and field scene by storm, establishing himself as a promising star with record-breaking achievements.

With a historic debut at the Wilson became the youngest male U.S. track and field athlete to compete at the Games, helping Team USA qualify for the relay final and ultimately earning a gold medal in the 4x400m relay.

His win made him the youngest Olympic gold medalist in U.S. men’s track and field history, but it’s not just his raw talent that’s driving him forward—Olympic 100m champion Noah Lyles has been a critical mentor guiding his path.

Quincy Wilson reflects on the intense final moments of the Olympic 4x400m relay as Rai Benjamin secured victory.

Lyles, who knows the pressures of competing on the world stage, has been a constant figure in Wilson’s development since the young athlete went professional. Speaking to Wilson explained just how much Lyles’ mentorship means to him:

“Noah Lyles has always been someone that I have talked to. Even as a mentor, I talk to Noah Lyles, and both our moms talk to each other weekly,” he said. “Just seeing another guy succeed after sticking to his word means a lot, and you can achieve it if you really put your mind to it.”

Noah Lyles has opened up on his relationship with Fred Kerley after the 2022 100-meter world champion bluntly stated he 'doesn't f**k with Lyles'

In addition to his Olympic gold, Wilson’s resume includes setting under-18 world bests in both indoor and outdoor 400 meters, achievements that have positioned him as the American high school record holder in these events.

Yet, beyond his records and accolades, it’s Lyles’ support that Wilson considers invaluable, a steady influence as he navigates the early days of his professional journey.

Wilson has also shared memorable moments from his Olympic debut, recalling the camaraderie within Team USA and his excitement at meeting his idol,

“Being able to stand with the team and being in the Olympic village…that is my guy and my GOAT,” he declared about James. “I will forever stand by that; LeBron is the GOAT.”

Fred Kerley has taken his beef with Noah Lyles to a whole new level as he aimed a fresh dig at the triple world champion.

As he looks to the future, Wilson is committed to remaining healthy and embracing the guidance he receives from Lyles. “I just want to stay healthy,» he expressed. «For me, I want to stay healthy because if I do that, I know the sky is the limit.”

With Lyles’ mentorship, his family’s support, and his impressive work ethic, Quincy Wilson is well on his way to establishing a legacy in sprinting, capturing the promise of a prodigy and the steady focus of a future champion.
