Two of America’s brightest track and field stars, and, recently shared a heartfelt exchange following former’s speaking engagement at Harvard University

The 100m hurdles Olympic gold medalist attended a summit at the Ivy League institution, where she described her experience as amazing and enlightening in a heartfelt Instagram post

Olympics 100m hurdles champion Masai Russell has weighed in on how her triumph at the Paris Games will act as a major motivator for the rest of her career.

“This was such an amazing and enlightening experience,” wrote Russell

“Thank you, Harvard, for inviting me to this event. Hope to be back soon.”

Her post was met with enthusiasm from Gabby Thomas, a fellow Olympian and Harvard alumnae who secured gold in the 200m at the Paris 2024 Olympics

Thomas responded with a warm, encouraging message saying, “Yess ma’am, Cambridge looks good on you.”

Russell, humbled by the praise, replied, “From the Harvard queen herself. Thank you.”

The exchange highlighted the camaraderie between the two athletes, both of whom are gearing up for a thrilling 2025 season

Russell aims to build upon her Olympic 100m hurdles title, while Thomas has her sights set on further success in the 200m.

The two wrapped up their 2024 season by competing in the inaugural Athlos, a women’s-only track event founded by Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian.
