Olympic 200m bronze medalist, Brittany Brown of the USA has beaten a field of elite competitors to secure first place in the 200 meters dash at the Rome Diamond League.
Capturing first place with a commanding time of 22.00 seconds Brown demonstrated why she remains a formidable force in track and field.
Brown outpaced fellow American Anavia Battle who secured second place with a season-best of 22.27 seconds.
Great Britain’s Daryll Neita claimed the third position, crossing the finish line at 22.46 seconds. Just behind her, Jessika Gbai from the Ivory Coast showed her prowess with a fourth-place finish at 22.51 seconds.
Switzerland’s Mujinga Kambundji, another favorite, ended in fifth, marking the finish line at 22.53 seconds. Jenna Prandini from the USA took sixth place with a time of 22.67 seconds showcasing the depth of American sprinting talent.
Further down the order, Maboundou Koné, also from the Ivory Coast took the seventh spot with a time of 22.84 seconds while Britain’s Amy Hunt finished eighth at 23.14 seconds gaining invaluable experience against a world-class field.
Rounding out the group Italy’s Dalia Kaddari finished ninth representing her country proudly with a time of 23.33 seconds.
