Gout Gout’s manager James Templeton has backed Gout Gout to make history as he chases fast times in the 100m and 200m.
If achieves the feat of going under 10 seconds in the 100m and under 20 seconds in the 200m, he will become the first Australian to have ever done that at the same meet.
If he goes under 20 seconds, Gout Gout will also join Noah Lyles, and co to attack Usain Bolt’s world record time of 19.19 seconds. James Templeton revealed that going under 20 seconds in the 200m has always been the goal.

Gout Gout is currently the national record holder in the 200m, having clocked an impressive 20.04 seconds to cross the finish line first at the Australian All Schools Championships in Brisbane late last year. His time destroyed Peter Norman’s record time of 20.06 seconds.
“It’s not impossible. If everything is in his favour I think he has a chance to run under 10 seconds anytime he races really. {Going under 20 seconds in the 200} that’s always on the cards,” James Templeton said in an interview with Fox Sports.
After a two-week training with , Gout Gout is now ready to compete against senior athletes.

James Templeton revealed that they are looking forward to what he can be able to achieve at the Queensland Championships this weekend.
“He feels stronger, he feels faster, he’s pretty excited. He’s looking forward to getting on the track and seeing what he’s got. Let’s see how the weekend goes,” he revealed.
Speaking about the strong opposition that awaits him this season, James Templeton revealed that Gout Gout remains unafraid and he is ready to challenge the athletes.

“Certainly, it doesn’t daunt him. He can’t be fretting about some decent local competition. It’s great for Australian athletics,” he added.
As Gout Gout gears up for his season opener after spending time in Florida with Noah Lyles, all eyes will be on him to deliver and one thing for sure is that he might drop a bombshell again.
His coach has expressed confidence in what the youngster can do and as the season unfolds, Gout Gout will be challenging the likes of Letsile Tebogo, Noah Lyles and Kishane Thompson among others.
