100m hurdles champion is known for clocking faster times in her specialty since shooting to prominence in 2021.

The 24-year-old, who is the US NCAA record holder in 100m hurdles and whose personal best of 12.25 seconds that ranks fifth of all time, said her normal preparation (not on track) sometimes poses a challenge to her.

Russell added that doing her hair is one thing that makes her very slow but generally she’s fast in everything, including driving. In an Athlos post shared to her , a question was asked: Everyone knows Masai Russell is lightning fast- but what’s she slow at?

In the video, Russell replied: «I’m lowkey slow at getting ready sometimes. Doing my hair, you know, typical. Other than that I’m pretty fast at a lot of things I do. I don’t like taking my time. I’m a sprinter so, everything is gotta be at a fast pace, you know? I’m fast at driving.»

Russell endeared herself into the hearts of many by clinching gold in 100m hurdles at the Paris Olympic Games on her debut.

Russell was on December 7 named the USA Track and Field (USATF) Breakthrough Performer of the Year following her extraordinary accomplishments.

Russell defied the odds to win 100m hurdles at Paris Olympics and has acknowledged the need to improve her time in 2025 with her busy schedule set to start in February,

Russell entered 2024 with ambitious goals of breaking the world indoor record, winning the world indoor title, claiming Olympic gold, and setting the world outdoor record.

While she narrowly missed the indoor accolades, falling short to her training partner Devynne Charlton, who won gold in Glasgow, Russell’s outdoor season became the highlight of her career.
