has embarked on their journey in the highly anticipated Women’s Cycling Tour of Burundi, an international ranking event spanning from November 10-16

The competition will see five Kenyan cyclists, led by Nancy Akinyi, National Olympic Committee of Kenya (NOC-K) scholarship holder

The Kenyan team roster is further composed of Julia Miring’u, Kendra Masiga, Grace Wairimu and Monica Kiplagat

Each of the riders make the team one to watch in the tour, under the guidance of their Director Sportif, Cynthia Marita.

The showdown in Burundi also provides a platform for the Kenyan ladies to elevate their individual rankings in the continental cycling scene.

Kenya’s participation is part of a broader competition that brings together 33 women from seven nations across Africa.

The showdown will feature hosts Burundi, Kenya, Benin, Uganda, Burkina Faso, Sierra Leone, and a combined team from Uganda and Senegal.

The continental showpiece is set to take place in Uasin Gishu, Nandi and Elgeyo Marakwet counties from October 9-13.

The participation comes on the back of Kenya hosting the CAC Road Cycling African Championships for the first time in history, held in Eldoret  from October 9-13.
