Kenya Pipeline women’s volleyball team coach is dreaming of winning the Kenya Volleyball Federation league title in his debut season with the six-time African champions.

The former Trail Blazers coach who succeeded at the start of this season, is relishing the challenge in the cut-throat league and faces a herculean task because of the competitive nature of the women’s league.

Kenya Pipeline Volleyball Club has managed to make a mark in Africa and the team manager and two players have explained what makes them stand out.

Defending Champion are formidable while evergreen Kenya Prisons are back to their best after a disappointing season. KCB beat Kenya Prisons 3-1 to be crowned the 2023-2024 champions while Kenya Prisons who won the title between 2018-2022 look rejuvenated.

Omondi, who revealed his target for the season, said: «Pipeline has a very huge following and they always want to be happy. Every match we play, we will be looking to make them happy. My job and responsibility as a coach will be to keep them happy,” he told Capital Sports. Omondi added.

The 2024/25 season will serve off on Thursday, October 31 as the federation seeks to embrace technology.

The oil merchants began their title charge with a second-place finish in the first leg of the national league, losing 3-2 to Kenya Prisons at the Kamukunji Grounds in Nyeri over the weekend.

«Our target this season is to win the national league as well as the international one. We have a plan and of course, if you don’t plan early then things will be difficult. We have a target in place and we are working hard towards it.» Omondi added.
